Sod was delivered first thing Monday morning and the crew started in on sodding the rough area at the beginning of the 15 fairway. Below is a picture of the completed work from a couple of different angles.
In ordering the sod, I miss measured somewhere and ended up with a good deal of extra sod. With the extra sod focus was shifted to drought recovery of the fairway bunkers. This entailed sodding bad areas, aerating bunkers, topdressing, and over seeding them. Work was performed to all the fairway bunkers. All fairway bunkers received a grub control product as well. Sod work remains to fairway bunkers on holes 1 and 2. The team and I are hoping to prep these areas next week.

Below is a galley of bunker work pictures:
With the extra sod the bag drop area was addressed. This area has had poor turf coverage for some time now and was further damaged this spring with the paving work. This area was stripped and sodded. There is a possibility that we might add some perennial type plant material to this area in the future.

The fairway bunker work and bag drop renovation were projects that were scheduled for later in the fall. With the extra sod they were pushed up the list and addressed sooner.
Our new seeder arrived this past Thursday and even though we are starting to get on the late side for seeding (especially bentgrass) we plan to put it to good use next week. We are also hoping to seed a few rough areas next week.

Other work completed this week is:
Tee aeration completed
Tees fertilized
Multiple applications to greens with a variety of products as we start to prepare them for winter
Area just past the fairway bunker on 18 was over seeded again. This area was seeded right in the beginning of drought and establishment wasn't great.

On another note, we are still very much in an extreme drought. While we have received some beneficial rains we still need a couple of good soakers before we blow out the irrigation system and the course goes to bed for the season.
