Much of this week was spent on focusing on fall cleanup, irrigation system maintenance, and fairway drainage maintenance as we continue to prepare for the upcoming winter.

On the irrigation side, some saddles were replaced this week and we have identified three more saddles that need replacing. All rough heads that saw limited use this season due to the wet weather were audited and edged in preparation for blowout of the irrigation system. The irrigation system will be blown out Tuesday, Nov. 14th . We will try to do the entire system in a day, but blowout may go over into Wednesday, Nov. 15th. Even after blowout is complete we will continue to work on the irrigation system as long as the ground doesn't freeze and is workable.
Fairway drainage was gone through and all catch basins on fairways were located, edged, and cleaned. Many exit points were also cleaned as well. This work will ensure we can move water off the fairways as quickly as possible over the winter and help in the prevention of ice formation. One winter project will be to GPS all the drainage catch basins and make locating and maintenance easier in the future. In the coming week, we are looking to fix a small drainage issue on the 8th fairway where we have been occasionally getting some standing water.
All mowing is basically done for the season. We might go out and touch up an area, mow a section of rough, or mulch some leaves, but play surfaces are done for the season. Mechanic Glenn Skelley has already started breaking down the mowing equipment and getting it ready for the 2024 season. Equipment work will be non - stop from now until Mid March.

The driving range will close for the season on Monday, Nov. 13th. As time permits the agronomy team will be topdressing the range floor/field with compost. Another layer of topdressing will also go out on the range targets.
