Fairways in great shape!
The past three days we have experienced some very cold morning temperatures with nights in the low to mid 20's. With two of those days featuring a very hard frost. This has delayed the time that we can get onto the turf and start course prep. This set back course perp some, but it was another busy week and we still have made great progress.
This week we completed a variety of agronomy and maintenance tasks:
Made a fungicide application to greens
Pressured up the irrigation system
First cut to fairways and approaches
Cut greens liner that came up over the winter
Started putting course amenities out
Prune work to left side of 3
Stumps on 3 and a few other were touched up
Extensive cleanup

As part of being an Audubon certified golf course and part of our public outreach we did a release of a rehabbed barred owl onto the golf course last Friday evening. This was the owl from Quincy Market that ate a rodent that had ingested rat poison. Many of you probably saw the story on the news.
