Ipswich received another four inches of heavy snow towards the beginning of the week. Unfortunately this snow has once again temporarily delayed some of our clean up efforts around the course. Thankfully the recent warm daytime temperatures have melted out a significant portion of the grounds already. This has allowed us to resume cleaning up stump shavings on holes 13, 14, and 17. We hope that by the end of the weekend the snow will be entirely gone or reduced to isolated pockets. A few seasonal staff members will also be returning to work this coming Monday. The focus of next week will be entirely on course clean up and preparing for opening day.

In exciting news the agronomy team received five new pieces of equipment this week for the upcoming golf season. These include a turf sweeper, two greens rollers, a Tri-Flex greens mower, and a Sidewinder for mowing rough surrounds. The sweeper will be a huge help as we prepare the course for opening and will speed up cleanup. We are also very excited about the additional Tri-Flex. This will now allow us to have two dedicated Tri-Flex mowers for greens and use our two older triplex mowers for tees. Being able to dedicate two mowers to either area at all times will allow the agronomy team to complete mowing faster and more efficiently then previously possible.
