Juan Reyes samurai tines 9 green

All the greens and practice greens were aerated with the samurai tine this week. This is a process of pulling a very small core that has an inside diameter of .173" and an outside hole diameter of .287. I personally swear by this practice and it provides no disruption to play. Greens were rolling 11'2" the morning after the greens were aerated. The process removes thatch, improves infiltration, allows for gas exchange in the root zone(soil), and helps with root growth. When hand watering in the morning you can really see the benefits of this practice as water just flows into the green. Once the greens are aerated we simply blow the plugs off to clean the surface and then roll the green. We have been employing this practice for a couple of seasons now. We have yet to have one isolated dry spot on a green this year despite very light watering. Additionally, we haven't had to pull a hose on them in the afternoon once the morning hand watering is done. This in turns means no disruption to the golf during play.

The renovated tees were opened for play on Saturday, June 18th. Below are some pictures of the final prep work.

The green surround extension project on hole 15 will be sodded next week. Sod is scheduled to arrive on Wednesday.
