The renovated driving range was opened for members use for the first time this weekend. The current schedule for range use will be hitting from the turf mats Monday-Friday and from the grass tee Saturday and Sunday. Please take a look at the posted sign showing the proper pattern for taking divots from the grass tee. Taking divots in a front to back line with strips of turf between each subsequent line will go a long way with helping the agronomy team keep the grass tee in good condition. Divot mix buckets will be available for use by members on the range tee. Adjustments to the range schedule and its daily setup will be made as they are deemed necessary by the Ipswich agronomy and golf teams. Below is a picture of the above mentioned sign along with an example of what we would like to avoid the tee looking like after a day of use.
Additional work was also completed during the week to the range leading up to its opening. This included some more drainage being installed by the contractor to deal with a few wet areas at the start of the range field. As stated in earlier posts these spots were the result of water moving through old drainage pipes that at the time of construction were not functioning. The range tee was also aerated and received a wetting agent application. This was done to help with some areas of the tee that had problems with moisture retention.
Additional work completed around the course:
Fairways sprayed with an application of wetting agent and grub control
Range field fertilized
Greens fungicide and fertility application
Cleared some greens drainage exits to facilitate water movement
Some additional loam and seed work was completed on the third hole
The Short Game tee that received heavy use while the range was unavailable has been closed to allow the agronomy team to give it some much needed attention. The tee will be overseeded in the near future and will remain closed for the foreseeable future as it recovers.

As a reminder please do not feed any wild animal you come across on the course.
