With the tree work on the 3rd hole finished, this week we finished the remaining storm damage cleanup and used a rented chipper to clean up debris from some of the in-house brush and tree removals. Some of our members have had the chance this week to get out and check out the work on 3 and the feedback has been overwhelmingly positive so far. We are eager to share the finished project once the stumps are ground and the loaming, sodding, and seeding is completed.
Mayer Tree also removed an additional dead oak and large pine tree along the 13th hole.
Other than last weekend when we recorded a low of -13 degrees (!) at our maintenance shop on Saturday morning, we've been experiencing some unusually warm weather for February. This looks like it will continue into next week, but as we all know late winter and early spring in New England can be a fickle beast. Night time temps have still been mostly below freezing and the ground is still frozen a few inches down. We encourage members who would like to take advantage of any warm afternoons to utilize the temporary course and short game facility but to please remain off of tee and green surfaces.
