This week we focused on cleaning out the drainage creek adjacent to the 10th tee. We left the native marshy plants and removed the thorny overgrown vines and brush. This will be an aesthetic improvement while continuing to provide erosion control and wildlife habitat.

This project tied nicely into one of our other ongoing projects for this winter as we are preparing for our recertification through the Audubon Cooperative Sanctuary Program for Golf Courses. With our large property and many wooded/naturalized areas we strive to be good stewards of both the golf course and the surrounding environment. We have been certified through this program since 2016 and we will continue to ensure that the Ipswich Country Club is a beautiful place for our members to recreate as well as an inviting home for many types of birds, as well as foxes, deer and aquatic life. Pockets of natural areas throughout the course can help to achieve both of these aims. And lastly may everyone have a happy holiday season as 2022 comes to a close. Thank you for an amazing year and we look forward to the coming new year.
