Staging equipment Monday evening

After seeing the course on Sunday morning and the amount of frost that had set up in the ground, I decided to give Mayer Tree Service a call. After the Sunday call, the plan was to mobilize and start on Monday. Unfortunately, we had some equipment delays and we could not mobilize the equipment until Monday evening. At that point we decided to start first thing Tuesday morning and if conditions deteriorated pull the plug on the work. Luckily the firm conditions and frozen ground prevailed and we were able to take down 34 trees and haul all the wood away by 11:00 am Wednesday. We were able to do this with hardly any damage along the haul route. I am very happy with how the initial phase of this project turned out. Stumps are planned to be ground sometime over the month of February. With landscaping of the area to start as soon as the ground becomes workable. This work will go a long way in approving our first impression at Ipswich.

The agronomy team was also busy on the course removing brush and trees around the 14th green this week. Details will be in our normal biweekly winter blog post next week.

We have another little cold snap that appears to be coming next week and the hope is to possibly complete some more tree work to the course.

If any members are around the course on the weekend please take a look at the work on one. Pictures do not do the work justice.
