Its been a busy month since our last blog post. The month of June was unusually dry and we are coming out of a stretch of 90 degree weather. Thankfully mother nature saw fit to give us a bit of a break with lower temps for the next week or so. The course also received an inch of rain last night giving both our staff and irrigation system a much needed break from watering. The first day of the 2024 Ipswich Ryder Cup has also commenced with last years winners team Scotland leading the opening ceremonies.

Irrigation:

Irrigation tech Marcelo has installed a few new quick couplers to make watering localized dry spots in our fairways easier. Without these valves we have to partially disassemble a nearby irrigation head to tap into and water these dry spots using our hand hoses. This process is not always the best of times.
Projects Update:
Work to the 10th tee area and the left side of 13 have continued when weather and time has permitted. The area beside the 10th blue tee is almost ready to be sodded and the memorial bench to be put in its place. The area on the left side of 13 where a large pine tree was removed for safety concerns has also been just about prepped to be seeded. These projects will be completed in the near future. Our focus will then shift back towards the first hole where a number of areas before and after the newly sodded portion will be addressed.
Work to the tenth tee and 13 stump hole:

Hydraulic Leak on 1 fairway:

One of our fairway mowers had a hydraulic leak which the operator luckily noticed quickly. This section of damaged turf is planned to be removed and sodded when time and other maintenance allows.
